Full court press

More updates from the past couple of weeks:

1) PURE joined in support of an amicus brief filed with the US Supreme Court (our first!!) in the case of Camreta v Greene and Alford v. Greene. The case concerns a police interrogation of a child in school without her parents’ permission. It’s complicated; here’s a summary of the case on the Supreme Court web site, with our brief listed.

2) Closer to home, our small schools case is moving along on appeal. Our attorneys, E. K. B. Siegel and Associates, filed our opening brief on February 14, 2011. CPS is due to file their response on March 21, and then we have until April 4th to reply. We expect oral arguments to be scheduled sometime after that, and then a ruling by the court.
